We have an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team, working on a variety of high-tech building design and construction projects. Project focus would initially be data centres and telecommunications facilities and would grow to include a variety of other facilities including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, or institutional.

This role sits within our global facilities services Mission Critical team, providing an opportunity to build your career and your team to serve this expanding sector. The key tasks and responsibilities are as follows:
Specific areas of responsibility include the following:

Manage project costs within fee budgets
Perform Line Management duties
Procure/liaise and manage Structural Engineering Partners in Europe.
Responsible for structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
Work on preparation of structural equipment: packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
Review structural vendor drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, data centres, and governmental and military facilities; data interface with suppliers, clients other engineering disciplines, detailers, designers.
Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders.
Applies expert knowledge of commonly used structural concepts, practices, codes and procedures within the structural engineering services industry.
Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
Perform quality review production drawings for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
Perform quality review the construction administration including coordination with field personnel to resolve design related installation issues, calculations, field inspections and testing of materials.
Perform field inspections, installation, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
Design structural components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Participate sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performance.
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the structural engineering practice. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
7 years minimum of structural engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong understanding of structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE and BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
