Burns & McDonnell Pipeline Project Manager in Wallingford, Connecticut
Primary responsibilities will be the execution of pipeline projects. This will primarily include.However a working knowledge of permitting, land acquisition, procurement and construction services performed directly and/or through subcontractors is preferred.
Projects will be both new and upgrade projects and will involve gathering, transmission or distribution of pipelines.
Additionally, candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate activities of multiple disciplines on pipeline projects.
Direct communication with internal clients, external clients and subcontractors.
Be main liaison with individuals within and outside of the organization with responsibility to act independently.
Provide oversight to lead discipline engineers, project controls specialists and procurement staff assigned to projects.
Direct design teams and facilitate resolution of design challenges.
Identify resource requirements for projects.
Provide direction on project planning, budgeting and critical project objectives.
Work directly with clients to identify and meet expectations providing responses in a timely manner.
Assist in proposal development including scope of work as well as cost and schedule estimates.
Participate in business development activities.
Initiates and/or participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Make recommendations and contributes to critical decisions that will have an impact on major company projects and programs.
Initiate and/or participate in decisions regarding business strategies.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive pipeline engineering experience, including 3 or more years of experience managing engineering projects. Completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
Must have experience with the production of pipeline design and construction documents.
Requires knowledge and experience working with codes and standards listed in DOT 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195.
Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Previous consulting experience preferred.
Professional Registration preferred.
