Our Transmission & Distribution global practice is looking for an Underground Transmission Engineer in our Wallingford, CT office to serve as a lead engineer on engineering/EPC projects. This position will be supporting successful project execution from the project award through project closeout. Major responsibilities will include:

• Overall Focus

• Provide technical support to design team

• Support team level accountability for the implementation and tracking of design quality control processes and procedures utilizing all applicable QC forms and checklists.

• Support the overall mission of meeting client requirements and expectations, industry standards, and Burns & McDonnell standards are maintained

• Communicate with the project manager regularly regarding project status and identification of challenges or concerns relating to project designs, the client, or the team

• Identify development needs of team and mentor, coach, and develop team

• Project Execution

• Support adherence to project plan. Proactively communicate changes to project plan with the team.

• Complete production work required to meet deliverable milestones

• Coordinate design change notifications with project manager

• Provide technical support over construction engineering support

• Support vendor drawing reviews and fabrication progress

• Communicate necessary project resource needs

• Perform QC reviews, as required

• Client Engagement

• Build relationships with key personnel at the client organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience in project (engineer/construction) execution.

• Experience working on underground electrical infrastructure projects

• Engineering in Training is preferred.

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Must be capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.

• Previous consulting experience is preferred.

Compensation Range

$100,000 - $155,000

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Connecticut Public Act 21-30, An Act Concerning the Disclosure of Salary Range for Vacant Positions. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
